This is a not-so-short page to tell you a few things about me:
(that's me in the photos on the right!)
RANDOM BITS OF INFO...
I LOVE music. I do have my TV addictions, but I am truly a music girl.
I always have music on in the background. Sometimes Opera. Sometimes
Jazz. Sometimes Reggae. Sometimes Sinatra Channel. Sometimes, even Country.
Mostly, it's Dance/Techno music.
I love Vanilla ice cream but Chocolate everything else.
I am a Culinary School graduate.
I have been told that I laugh too loud.
I have visited every state in this country except Alaska.
(I was lucky enough to check Hawaii off the list 3 years ago).
I currently live with a 5 year old 120 pound green-eyed Chocolate Lab named Rockford, a 3 year old blue-eyed white Boxer named Ruby, and my 10 year old Bengal cat, Boomer. They are so sweet and wonderful and cuddly and keep me busy and happy and healthy.
WHY I'M A PET PHOTOGRAPHER...
I am a cat AND a dog person... I know most people are typically one or the other, and for most of my life I belonged to the 'Cats Only' crowd. But in 1998 I met my husband, and a few months later we adopted a dog together. Because I didn't know a *thing* about dogs, my husband bought me multiple books about dogs and how to train them. I fell completely in love with my dog ~ and my husband ~ and continued reading and learning all I could about how to train them (my dog AND my husband). Later, I started a Pet Sitting business, and I would always bring my camera and photograph the animals & email the photos to my clients. My clients always really enjoyed being able to see the fact that their pets were having fun while they were away. In late 2008 I was in the midst of moving to Charlotte, so I ended my pet sitting business and began my Pet Photography business.
I've pretty much always had a camera in my hand ~ I have so much fun documenting the 'stuff' in life and I'm so grateful for the 1000's of photos I have from all the fun times I've had! I shoot with a digital camera, a Nikon D300 and I love it! It's SUCH a change from my first digital camera!! I got my first digital camera in 1999 and it was a whopping 2.0 megapixels and it was giant and heavy!
Pet Photography is the best career ever! I get to travel around, meet pets and their people, and spend time having fun with them and capturing their unique beauty and super fun personality on camera! What could be better??
